Time has swept us away

Into the haze of memories

Grasping for truth, scattered in the past

How are you, old friend?

Tides have come and gone

I’ve counted every grasp of their elegance

Listening to your melody, echoing back

How are you, old friend?

Days and nights waltzed side by side

Every step took me stumbling forward

But still I grasped on, eyes streaming

How are you, old friend?

I’ve kept the hands of your clock

Not a minute has passed since you’ve gone

And maybe it’s time to return home

How are you, old friend?

Lone question floating in the void

Ricocheting against the wall of life

Never to be answered, never to be heard
